Project Description

Great River Greening of St. Paul, Minnesota, was awarded $21,000 to improve shoreline habitat on Hallett’s Pond, an urban fishing location. Great River Greening, working in cooperation with the City, oversaw the planning and permitting of the shoreline restoration and planting of four floating islands totaling 640 square feet.

This included the installation of a floating treatment wetland for improved water quality and aquatic habitat. These islands are to act to improve aquatic habitat and provide refugia for fish, amphibians, insects and birds. This is a very popular public urban fishing pond within  Hallett’s Pond Natural Area in Saint Peter, Minnesota.
